Conversions

Convert It

Do you hope to add more living area to your house by converting your basement, attic, garage or porch to habitable space? This can be tricky bringing the space to code for stairs & landings, ceiling height, egress and weatherization among other issues. We'll first talk with you about the feasibility of your hoped-for project; where your space meets code, and where it doesn't. And we'll then talk about what we might do to make what doesn't meet code, meet code, and how much that might cost.
Converting non-habitable space to habitable space might require engineering, in which care our engineering partners will also help out. Regardless, the project will require a building permit. Obtaining all permits and the entire permitting process is our responsibility, so this is nothing for you to fear.
Keeping non-habitable space non-habitable space, but improving it to make it a more functional and nicer-looking storage space can also be tricky; take it too far, and we might trigger habitable space code requirements. Therefore, we also need to be clear about what we can't do when improving non-habitable space.
We love complicated projects as much as we love uncomplicated projects. Bring it on.
